Good Boy Chart

When Max woke up from his rather long (and much needed) nap yesterday, he said we needed to go for a ride in the car. He said we needed to go get new "light-mcqueen" race cars. I realized that for the prior two weekends, we have gone to Target so Max can pick out a small prize. This is all the result of his "good boy chart"! We stole the idea from our neighbors Khan and Mari who have a good boy chart for their son Kai. Eeach day that Kai is good, he gets a stamp or a sticker for his good boy chart. After having 7 good days, the 8th day results in a small prize. We started this a few weeks ago. The first week was a struggle. Max had melt downs and still wanted a sticker at the end of the day. Since then, he has had really good days! He knows and looks forward to choosing his sticker at the end of the day. Of course, he looks even more forward to the trip to Target to choose his prize. We are not talking about big gifts here - just $10 worth. Well, Max knew yesterday that he was on the day that had a "P" for prize listed and therefore he wanted to go to Target for his prize. Smart little guy! So, what is a mom to do? Head to Target, of course. Max choose a set of race cars from the "Cars" movie. "Lightning McQueen" (his favorite) was one of them.
