Kitchen update

Our kitchen renovation is going really well! Contractor is wonderful, work is progressing and soon, we will have our kitchen back together. Still, it is hard. Eating out every evening sounds great in the beginning but after a few days, all you want is to throw something simple together at home. Our fridge is hooked up, outside. Our "pantry" is a corner of the office which also holds 90 or so pieces of cabinetry until it gets installed on Tuesday. Brent has access to his desk, computer and printer. That is about it. So, even though our experience so far has been great, living without your kitchen for a couple of weeks is not easy...

Kitchen renovation

So we have finally decided to pull the trigger on our much needed kitchen renovation! All the cabinets, appliances and countertop was ordered last week. The contractor starts working tomorrow! We could not be more excited! We have been packing up everything for the last few days and now, we are prepared for tomorrow. Unfortunately Brent has to fly out for Dallas in the morning, around the same time that the General Contractor shows up. Great! I am crossing my fingers everything will go well and we will be off to a good start. I'll keep you posted...

San Francisco Zoo

Today, we went to the San Francisco Zoo for the first time. It was great! Brian and Luke Uffelman had plans to go as well so we met up with them. Luke and Max had so much fun! Luke really liked seeing the giraffes and Max's favorite was the rhinoceros.

Yard work

We have been working in the backyard the last few weekends the weather has been so great. Brent bought some flowers for Max to plant in a tub just outside the playhouse. Here are some pictures of the planting event, our yard and our new tower of herbs!

For those of you who may not yet know, Max will have a little brother come August! He is very excited to become a big brother. We recently talked about how his little brother needs a bed to sleep in and bought a true toddler bed for Max. We told him that he could start using it whenever he felt ready. He slept in it the very first night and when asked who will sleep in his old bed, he says "my little brother". Last night, I reorganized the dresser in Max's room and showed him how I moved his clothes over to one side of the dresser to make space for his brother's clothes. He was fine with that. When he saw all the baby clothes, he said he wanted to wear them. However, when he saw how small they were, he suggested that the baby would wear them. All the clothes are now washed, folded and put away. Max has been very understanding so far when we talk about his brother and about sharing. We will see how he reacts when the little guy arrives...

I am now 25 weeks along in my pregnancy with 15 weeks to go! Less actually. The due date is August 16th although we have a C-Section scheduled for August 9th. The photo below was taken about a week ago at 24 weeks.
