Le Metro = Take the Cab Instead...

Fantastic trip - no complaints. We did, however, ultimately determine that it's easier and marginally more expensive (at best) to take a taxi. Had we done so at the outset, our dinner the first night in Paris may have consisted of more than convenience store crackers and overly "fragrant" cheese...

Hotel was simple and small yet adequate and charming (with the exception of the €19 each continental breakfast, which, for €19, could be described as anything but continental). Nonetheless, we were centrally located and happy with the accommodations. A few pics from our first night.

Sidebar -- BU, you may notice the stylish white pants against the backdrop of the red duvet cover. Very versatle and, clearly, an appropriate choice. As previously indicated, you are welcome to borrow them any time and you may also be interested in the capri-style white shorts that I'll be returning home with...

On to more important items. First full day consisted of the "cram it all in with barely enough time to acknowledge the name of the iconic feature that you're standing in front of, much less truly appreciate it, day." A brief overview of Thursday's agenda:

Notre Dame
Seine
Pont Neuf
Louvre
Champs-Elysees
Arc de Triomphe
Presumably homeless man deficating on the street (no sh*t and no pun intended - picture available upon request...)
Eiffel Tower
