What a milestone!

On Saturday evening, Max (completely on his own) went into the bathroom, moved his stool over to the sink, climbed up, got out his toothbrush and toothpaste and brushed his teeth. Amazing.

Visit by GiGi, PopPop and Nana

We had such a nice visit with GiGi, PopPop and Nana from Dallas towards the end of March. We took them to the board walk, enjoyed a picnic on the beach, dinner at Tyrolean Inn in Ben Lomond and ran through the sprinklers with Pop Pop in the back yard. Here are some pictures from our time together. The cool turtle shirt and shorts outfit pictured below is from Nana - thank you!

Lilly's turns 3!

We visited with the Soderstrom's in Half Moon Bay for Lilly's 3rd birthday. They even had a bouncy house! Lilly's baby sister Lucy is going on 3 months now. So cute. We stopped at the beach after the party so Max could play in the sand for a while. Below are some photos from our day. Max really liked the cake...

Just like my buddy Luke

At times when Max protests about something (anything) such as dressing himself or finishing his dinner or taking a bath, we remind him that his buddy Luke down the street is able to do it (whatever it is we are discussing at the moment) "all by himself". This morning when Brent asked Max to get dressed for school Max said; "I can do it all by myself - just like my buddy Luke".

My favorite weekend moments

I just love, love, love the moments on the weekends when Max crawls into our bed in the morning, demands to watch either Mickey Mouse, Rocket Ship (he means Little Einsteins which by the way is a very annoying show) or Dragon Tales (possibly more annoying than Little Einsteins) and snuggles up between us. A couple of minutes thereafter he usually demands "hot milk" (although we make him ask nicely before giving him any) and then he just lies there, watching TV, commenting and singing along, drinking his milk. I just stare at him. He is so beautiful. I love my child.

Good on waffles

On Sunday morning, we were having waffles for breakfast. Max pointed at his plate of waffles and said; "Daddy, I need some beer on my waffles". Beer?? I told Brent that Max definitely meant syrup! We laughed. The things kids say...
