I love being at home with Finn. I think I am able to enjoy my maternity leave more this time around. I am not nervous that something will go wrong and do not feel the need to check on Finn throughout the night as I did when Max was a newborn. I guess you just feel more capable the second time around. It is nice. I have not done much of anything this week, which is wonderful. I am just enjoying being a parent and having some time with my baby. I feel so fortunate to have yet another beautiful boy to love and cherish.
Finn's 1-week check up
On Tuesday, we took Finn to see Dr. Nancy for his 1 week checkup. All is well. Best of all, he has gained back the weight he lost since birth. He weighed 6 lbs, 14 oz when born and is now at 6 lbs, 15 oz. We are off to a good start!
The backsplash
As soon as Max comes home from school, he wants to hold Finn. He sits on the couch with a pillow under his arm for support and holds his brother, pats him on the head and talks to him. It is precious. Thankfully, he lets us know when he wants to get down and play again by saying; "I am done holding Finn now".

Counting down the days...
I went to the doctor today. My last check-up prior to Monday! All seems well with Finn. In five days, he will be here! I can't wait to see him and hold him. These last few days are super busy. Tons of errands and not a lot of time sitting down. However, I have been able to squeeze in a nap here and there so I can't complain. I think I will hit the sack early tonight for once. Another busy day in store for tomorrow.

Max and Mommy day
Yesterday, Brent had to attend to work. All day and all evening. Max and I spent some quality time together. We had an awesome day. We strolled to Starbucks in the morning, hand-in-hand. Max had chocolate milk, a special treat, while I enjoyed my caffe mocha. The we headed down to Vasona Park. We still have tickets left over from Max's birthday party celebrated there. We rode the train. Max smiled from ear to ear. Then we rode the carousel. Twice. He climbed the tree just outside the carousel and then he had to decide if he wanted to ride the carousel again or the train. He chose the train. We had ice-cream on a bench. I just sat there, looking at him while his fudge bar was melting and making a mess. He is just so adorable and beautiful. After running around for a while longer, we headed back home. We ate lunch and then we napped. For a long time. It was heavenly. After dinner, we drove to the mall. Max really needed some new shoes for school. We fed the rides coins and he loved every minute of riding the space ship and the race cars. His feet were measured by the girl at Stride Rites and he tried on several pairs of shoes. He chose blue ones. Just like last time. On the way out, he wanted to play in the play area. It was busy. Tons of kids. He was careful with not running into the little ones. Somewhat intimidated by some of the older boys. Back at home, he took a bath, drank milk, watched one TV show and then quickly agreed to go to bed. It was late. He was tired. We had a fun filled Max and Mommy day. I will remember it - always.
